YuRi was the second member to debut solo, right after former leader Kwon EunBi. Her solo debut with the mini album “GLASSY " solidified her status as a soloist to anticipate, and she definitely kept the momentum going with her newest release “Op.22 Y-Waltz : in Major”. If you must binge listen to an album this week, or month, it has to be Jo YuRi’s newest mini album, and if the songs on there don’t have you attempting pirouettes in your room, or taking that fun walk in the park with the tunes blasting from your Airpods, we don’t know what other songs will.

1. Fun and Catchy Title Track

The music video for ‘Love Shhh !’ which is the title track of YuRi’s newest mini album is the perfect feel good summer song. You can’t help but put this track on loop while you do whatever makes you feel good to make you feel even better. Though the album title may have promised to serve orchestra and waltz themes, this title track certainly deserves its spot as title track, and there is no better tune to hum along to to officially welcome summer. Another thing… the point moves in the choreography are super cute!

2. Amazing B-Sides

‘Opening’ feels like the best starter B-side, yet it’s the last song on the album. It almost perfectly mirrors the album name, as the song sounds like a masterfully crafted waltz tune. You could even say it makes you feel like you’re in your own “Beauty and the Beast” fantasy ball. The beautiful harmony of different orchestra instruments and YuRi’s spectacular and diverse notes make this song the one to make you waltz around your room with elegance. This song could pull the graceful dancer out of any fan.   Fans would be instantly drawn to ‘Round and Around’ the second the vocables and the piano accompany each other in perfect harmony. This melody also gives off a waltz-worthy vibe, and then the finger snapping and bass come in, and it’s immediately chef’s kiss. Such a combination of melodies and sounds is nothing less than a masterpiece, and of course, YuRi’s soft sopranos are the cherry on top. The only thing to complain about with this song is that it’s barely up to two minutes, but that could be a plus, too.   In ‘Rolla Skates’, YuRi said yes to cute, free and fun vibes. The song is the perfect dance pop song, and it certainly would make you whip out your favourite pair of roller skates for a skate around a park with your best buddies. You could even have a walk with an occasional stop for ice-cream while you listen to these happy tunes. YuRi tries her hand out at rap in the third verse, and to say she ate would be an understatement. The part of this song that completes the fun vibe of this song and that will have any fan humming along is the vocables, the la la la’s. You can’t not whistle along when you hear those.

3. Perfect Summer Vibe With a Twist

You may have been one of the fans that expected waltz like tracks worthy of grand balls, and while YuRi certainly did not disappoint in that area, she made sure to keep some fun and fresh tunes in as well. You’d waltz to ‘Opening’ or ‘This Time’, or you could get your groove on with ‘Rollla Skates’ or ‘Love Shhh !’ There’s a tune for every taste. Oh, and remember those point moves from earlier?
